Debbie has a pretty cool job. Well, jobs. She gets to promote the city she calls home through lead generation projects in places like Ottawa and Toronto and she plans corporate events here in Saint John. But maybe the best part is that she gets to work directly with our local tourism industry to pull off events with that “wow” factor that keeps corporate clients and tourists coming back to Saint John for more. Two-hundred and fifty million dollars more – that’s how much tourists spend here every year.

"At first glance, visitors perceive Saint John as an old industrial city. But once they are here, they find it charming, easy to navigate, convenient, authentic and steeped in history with an urban energy."

Over the years, Debbie has noticed that the investments made to support tourism here in Saint John have paid off. Big time. For example, our Inside Connection Pedway System helped rally our uptown tourism providers to work together and promote Saint John as a convention destination. "Our pedway gives Saint John an edge and opens up opportunities to host larger events, and more of them, year round."

Debbie has seen how tourism matters to Saint John. She's witnessed the economic impact and growth firsthand. "Tourism creates and sustains jobs, creates awareness of the memorable, stand-out experiences Saint John has to offer, and instills pride within our people."
